I had recorded a number of different picking patterns to accompany Aimée's voice, but she preferred the simple strumming of the Kretzmann acoustic. The open spaces left room for an organ track from our 1960 Hammond M and some Ebow on the 1978 Gibson Road Artist.
At the Christmas recording session in October we were joking with our friends that a song like Silent Night really needs big drums... turns out, yup. Aimée took a mallet to her Mapex maple kick drum: that's the thumping you hear in the second verse around "shepherd's quake at the sight".

Since June of 2000, Aimee and Joel have been making music together. Their first CD was completed in 2003.
